Pollscode
CrowdNewsrooms are best promoted in newsletters. With the Mailchimp integration and the merge field "POLLSCODE" you can significantly reduce the bounce rate of active members, because they don't have to log in first to answer the CrowdNewsroom. The POLLSCODE works like a kind of personal member ID that is added to the CrowdNewsroom link.
IMPORTANT: The Pollscode merge tag only plays a role in CrowdNewsrooms for members only or those where contact details are requested. For completely anonymous CrowdNewsrooms, the use does not make sense and does not work.
In the following example we explain step by step how to use the POLLSCODE merge tag for CrowdNewsrooms.
Create your CrowdNewsroom as usual.
Make sure that it cannot be answered anonymously.
Then copy the CrowdNewsroom link and add the extension /*|POLLSCODE|*.
Add the link to your Mailchimp campaign where you want to promote the CrowdNewsroom.
IMPORTANT: If the CrowdNewsroom is not intended for members, but for everyone, you need to create two campaigns. One, for all members (i.e. the Mailchimp contacts with the tag "Active Member", where you use the CrowdNewsroom link with the extension /*|POLLSCODE|*, and one for all other contacts, where you add the "normal" CrowdNewsroom link.
(In the higher-priced packages, Mailchimp also offers the option of using Dynamic Content, i.e. displaying different content for different target groups in one campaign. You can find more information about this in this article).
