Pollscode

Callouts are best promoted in newsletters. With the Mailchimp integration and the merge field "POLLSCODE" you can significantly reduce the bounce rate of active members, because they don't have to log in first to answer the callout. The POLLSCODE works like a kind of personal member ID that is added to the callout link.

IMPORTANT: The Pollscode merge tag only plays a role in callouts for members only or those where contact details are requested. For completely anonymous callouts, the use does not make sense and does not work.

In the following example we explain step by step how to use the POLLSCODE merge tag for callouts.

  1. Create your callout as usual.

  2. Make sure that it cannot be answered anonymously.

  3. Then copy the callout link and add the extension /*|POLLSCODE|*.

  4. Add the link to your Mailchimp campaign where you want to promote the callout.

IMPORTANT: If the callout is not intended for members, but for everyone, you need to create two campaigns. One, for all members (i.e. the Mailchimp contacts with the tag "Active Member", where you use the callout link with the extension /*|POLLSCODE|*, and one for all other contacts, where you add the "normal" callout link.

(In the higher-priced packages, Mailchimp also offers the option of using Dynamic Content, i.e. displaying different content for different target groups in one campaign. You can find more information about this in this article).
