# How to make responses mandatory

If participants should required to answer a question, you can make the answering of a question mandatory.

1. Create your question as usual.

2. Once you have created the question, click on *Validation* in the settings window.
3. Select the *Required* option and click on *Save*.

4\. Done! Mandatory questions are marked with a small asterisk.
