# How to create a segment

Segments are basically saved *filters*. To create a segment, proceed as follows.

1. Log in to your beabee instance and go to *Contacts*. 
2. Open the *Filters* dropdown menu next to the search bar and apply one or more filters to your search and click on *search*.

3. Click on *Save segment*.

4. Give the segment a name and click on *Create segment*.&#x20;

5. Done! You can see the news segment on the left next to your contacts.
