# Change email domain

By default, Stripe sends automatic emails for direct debits from the ‘stripe.com’ domain. However, we recommend using your own domain for sending these automatic emails.

To do this, proceed as follows:

1. Log in to your Stripe account. Go to *Settings*, and under *Business*, select *Customer emails*.

2. Scroll down to the section *Your custom email domains* and click *Add domain*.

3. Enter your website domain (e.g. beabee.io) and click *Connect*.

4\. Install all the DNS records shown with your domain provider (if you’re not sure how to do this, check the [Stripe Help Center](https://support.stripe.com/?locale=en-US)) and click *Try* *Verifying now*, then follow Stripe’s instructions.

5. According to Stripe, it may take up to 72 hours for the changes to take effect. Once the verification is successful, you will receive a notification from Stripe. You can then select the domain in the same menu for sending automatic emails.
