# Create groups in Mailchimp

Please note that beabee can only be connected to a single Mailchimp audience. If you want to send different newsletters or manage different groups of recipients, you should not create separate Mailchimp audiences. Instead, use groups within the same Mailchimp audience to segment your contacts and target them more effectively.

You'll also need Mailchimp groups if you want people to [sign up for your newsletter](/help-center-english/engagement/crowdnewsroom/how-to-create-a-crowdnewsroom/newsletter-sign-ups-in-your-crowdnewsroom.md) directly while completing a CrowdNewsroom.

**How to create groups in Mailchimp:**

1. Log in to your Mailchimp account and click *Audience* on the left side.

2. Click *More options* and select *Groups*.

3. Click *Create Group* in the top right corner. A pop-up window will appear. Select *Hidden* and give the group category any name you like. If you send only one newsletter, create a single group option with any name (e.g., Survey Participants, Newsletter). If you send multiple newsletter, you can create several group options (e.g., Daily, Monthly).

4. Click *Create Group*.
5. All changes are automatically synchronized with beabee. In some cases, however, you may need to refresh the integration manually. To do this, go to *Settings* → *Integrations* and click *Refresh*. You can find a detailed guide [here](/help-center-english/mailchimp-integration/check-whether-the-mailchimp-integration-was-successful.md).

{% hint style="danger" %}
Every group you create in Mailchimp is automatically synced to your beabee instance. The same applies when you delete a group. The deleted group is automatically removed from all CrowdNewsrooms where it is listed as an option. The corresponding subscription status is also removed from your contacts.
